MEXA’s 16th Annual Exporters’ Gala Dinner was held last Thursday 28 November 2024 at Le Meridien Hotel, Pointe Aux Piments. This event was attended by several newly appointed Honourable Ministers Reza Uteem, Aadil Ameer Meea, Dhananjay Ramphul, Jyoti Jeetun and Junior Minister Dhaneshwar Damry.

In his address, the Chairman of MEXA, Mr Dominique De Froberville, reflected on the Export Sector’s remarkable journey through challenging times. Much emphasis was laid on securing the Government’s support through various strategic schemes implemented such as the TPMS, FRS and the Export Credit Insurance Scheme.

The significant setbacks that our sector have faced were also described by the MEXA Chairman in his speech, such as extensive labour costs, the current port crisis, Industrial FDI and the sector’s lack of visibility vis a vis our international stakeholders.

The MEXA Annual Gala Dinner, as it has always been the case, provided our members and stakeholders with an excellent networking platform and meaningful engagement with the Ministers present.
