Extension of Export Incentives and Schemes – Budget Measures 2025/2026

Following the 2025/2026 National Budget Speech, we are pleased to inform our members that several export incentive schemes have been extended for the new fiscal year — from 1st July 2025 to 30th June 2026 — with revised terms and conditions aimed at reinforcing the export sector.

Extended Export Schemes (until 30 June 2026):

1. Freight Rebate Scheme (FRS)

  • Refund of up to 27% on ocean freight for first-time exporters
  • Refund of up to 17% for other eligible exporters
  • Subject to annual turnover thresholds and refund caps

2. Trade Promotion and Marketing Scheme (TPMS)

  • 40% refund on basic air freight for non-agricultural products
  • For agricultural products:
    • 20% refund to the exporter
    • 20% refund to the planter
  • Annual cap: MUR 20 million per company

3. Export Credit Guarantee Insurance Scheme (ECGIS)

  • Refund of 33% of insurance premium
  • Or 0.33% of insurable declared turnover

4. SME International Fairs Refund Scheme

  • Refund of up to MUR 333,000 per company annually
  • Applicable for participation in up to two international fairs per year
