“Open Days in Export Manufacturing” Inspires Students in its 3rd Edition

The 3rd edition of “Open Days in Our Export Manufacturing Companies” officially kicked off on 14 August 2025, continuing its mission to inspire and educate secondary school students by offering them a rare, first-hand look into the world of export manufacturing.

Since its inception, Open Days has become a valuable platform for:

• Providing students with practical insight into how the industry operates
• Showcasing the diverse and rewarding career opportunities within export manufacturing
• Highlighting the sector’s vital contribution to the Mauritian economy

This year’s programme was launched at CDL Knits (CIEL Group) in Forest Side, where Grade 12 students from College De La Confiance were welcomed. During the visit, students gained a comprehensive view of the textile production chain — from raw materials to the creation of finished t-shirts — while witnessing the skill, precision, and innovation that drive the industry.

The initiative will continue in the coming weeks with visits to other member companies, ensuring that more young Mauritians gain valuable exposure to the opportunities and impact of the export manufacturing sector.
