MEXA facilitates another milestone in strengthening US – Mauritius Trade Relations: First shipment of U.S Soybean Meal arrives in Mauritius

Following the successful import of premium U.S. cotton by one of our major Textile Companies in September 2025, Mauritius has reached yet another important milestone in strengthening its trade relationship with the United States.

The recent arrival of the first shipment of U.S. soybean meal, imported by one of the country's leading animal feed producers, marks a significant step in expanding commercial exchanges between the two countries while supporting Mauritius' livestock and animal feed industry with high-quality agricultural inputs.

The soybean meal, sourced from the United States, will be used in the manufacture of animal feed, providing local producers with access to premium raw materials that contribute to improved productivity and quality across the agricultural value chain.

This latest achievement builds on the growing momentum initiated by MEXA with the collaboration of the U.S.-Africa Trade Desk (USATD), which have been actively facilitating new trade opportunities between American exporters and Mauritian industries. Together with the earlier import of U.S. cotton for the textile sector, these transactions demonstrate the increasing diversification of U.S. exports to Mauritius and reinforce ongoing efforts to promote a more balanced and mutually beneficial trade relationship.

During the visit, the U.S. delegation expressed its appreciation to the manufacturing company, MEXA and all stakeholders whose collective efforts made the transaction possible.
