Article | May 13, 2026
MEXA participated in discussions with Government alongside key representatives of the Private Sector to bring forward the priorities and concerns of the export manufacturing sector.
These consultations provide an important platform for dialogue between the public and private sectors on measures required to sustain economic growth, strengthen industrial resilience, and enhance the international competitiveness of Mauritian enterprises.
In the context of increasing global competition, rising operational costs, technological transformation, and evolving market demands, MEXA emphasized the importance of targeted and forward-looking measures capable of supporting the long-term development of the export sector.
In this year’s budget exercise, MEXA brought forward four main priority areas:
- Strengthening external competitiveness
- Sharpening internal efficiency through industrial upgrading, AI and new technologies absorption
- Accelerating the export sector’s transition to renewable energy
- Fostering the development of emerging export segments and local production.
